Recipe Chocolate Mug Cake

If you're looking for a quick and easy dessert for two (or one) then you can't go any further than this!

It's super easy... you should have all of these ingredients in the pantry and it all takes less than 5 minutes 'til you're back on the couch and enjoying every mouthful! (My next blog post will have to encourage physical activity after that spruik for such a self indulgent evening!)

It's as easy as this...

Chocolate Mug Cake Recipe

4 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons rice bran oil, or butter
¼ teaspoon vanilla essence
1 tablespoon choc chips
1 large mug

1.Add all dry ingredients to the mug, and mix well.
2.Crack an egg and add it to your mug. Be sure to mix it well to avoid any pockets of flour in the corners. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the vanilla essence.
3.Pop your mug into the microwave & zap for 3 minutes on maximum power (1000watt). Wait until the cake stops rising, and sets in the mug.
4.If necessary, run a knife around the sides of the mug, and tip the still warm cake out of the mug and onto a saucer.
{Recipe originally from:}

I've adjusted the time because I find 3 minutes is too long so I usually try 2 minutes... you can always do more... but you can't take time back!

I've also experimented with a choc sauce added to make it like a self saucing pudding... all you need to do is mix 2 tbs boiling water, 1 tsp cocoa powder and 1/2 tsp brown sugar and pour over cake mix before cooking! Yum!! Serve with icecream or cream! :)

Then curl up on the lounge with a book or some sewing and enjoy!
