This time last year....

This time last year I was relaxing at home... I'd finished up work a little early due to illness and I was preparing myself and my home for our new life with a baby!

{Scavenger Hunt Sunday #6}

So this is a very late entry... and slightly selfish too! It's all about Miss Daisy! And they're all from the archives, but newly edited!

She's been 'taking up' so much more of my time lately which I've been thoroughly enjoying! Less time for the usual hobbies but it's amazing to see how much she is learning every day!

Some of my favourites at the moment:* Bringing a book to me and crawling on my lap
* Patting me on the back when she cuddles!!
* Saying "woof woof" at all animal pictures!
* Holding up her toy phone and saying 'hello'
* Kisses! :)
* And wiping her mouth after kisses!

Daddy took this one day when he arrived home from work! :)

Wow! Wishing I could have a set like these! :)

Her first craft for Daddy on Valentine's Day.

{Leaf veins}
Looks a little like veins on a leaf!

{Faceless Portrait}
Where it all began! :) Well, I guess this wasn't quite the beginning!

What's Cooking!?

It's been a busy few weeks here... so our 'meal plan' has been rather abstract!

However, today is a cooking day for me!
So here's what's on today's agenda in my kitchen!!

Tabouli and Hummus to go with our Mediterranean lunch tomorrow!

Choc Coconut Slice to have on hand for guests over weekend!

Chick Pea Curry - because I really want it for lunch! Yes, it's that quick and easy!

Falafel - because Miss Daisy will eat it for lunch and dinner! And I love it too!

So there you have it - now I better get off the computer and into the kitchen while Miss Daisy is snoozing! :)

Recipe:: Pea and Fetta Fritters

This one's for Daisy-girl!
But Mummy and Daddy enjoy them too!!

Do you ever use the recipes on the back of packets?
You know how they give you suggestions on the sugar, flour, frozen vegetables and butter?

Well, by coincidence I glanced at the recipe on the back of the peas a few weeks ago (something I don't usually do!) and came across this fantastic recipe. It's been made here a few times lately so I've tweaked it just a little to make it slightly more Daisy-friendly!
And she loves it!

Slow Cooker Recipe:: {Easy Pumpkin Curry}

Slow Cooked Pumpkin Curry

This one is a favourite here and it's on the menu this week... it's so simple to just pop everything in the slow cooker - then set and forget! And.... it's delicious!

NB: I left the coconut milk which appears in the method off the ingredients list! Eek! We use a 400mL tin! :)

{Where's my motivation? Oh, there it is!}

So it's been a while since I blogged regularly... and a while since I sewed regularly! And taking photos seems like a thing of the past... perhaps I begin too many projects all at once!

Here is some of what I've been up to in the past month! Perhaps it's more than I think!

Earlier this month I took photos of my beautiful sister in law Hannah and my niece, Miss P. They have taken a monthly shot of Miss P painting her belly. What a wonderful way of bonding with her baby brother or sister and a beautiful memory.

You should visit Paint On The Ceiling and browse through the other wonderful things they get up to!

I've started a few little sewing projects of late, some bags, headbands, toys and drawing some patterns for some cute little {1st birthday} treats (yes, it's less than 2 months away!)

Miss Daisy-girl has become more and more mobile! I'm loving the added adventures and interactions we can have but it is also far more time consuming! I have to be so watchful of her climbing up on things, walking over and stealing things from 'up high' or stealing tissues, wipes and anything else that comes out of a box and is generally wasteful!

Here she is with her walker from Nanna... she's so good at walking with it now! I'm sure it won't be too long 'til she's walking on her own!
Notice the one handed driving and wave... she likes to wave to her fans as she walks... in this case it was the puppies... she also liked waving at our neighbour as she traversed the front garden... he was happy to oblige her with lots of encouragement and praise as usual!

I guess generally it hasn't been motivation I need, just time. With up to 4 students a week for private tuition, meals to plan/cook, cleaning to do, errands to run, playdates to attend! It's no doubt the 'sometimes' things like blogging, sewing and baking seem to take a backseat sometimes... imagine when Miss Daisy is down to one sleep! Or has a sibling or 2!

To see more amazing cartoons visit:
All in all I guess since I haven't been taking photos I don't have a huge amount to document the month! But I have loved every minute and enjoyed spending my time on family type things rather than self type things!

Recipe Chocolate Mug Cake

If you're looking for a quick and easy dessert for two (or one) then you can't go any further than this!

It's super easy... you should have all of these ingredients in the pantry and it all takes less than 5 minutes 'til you're back on the couch and enjoying every mouthful! (My next blog post will have to encourage physical activity after that spruik for such a self indulgent evening!)

It's as easy as this...
