Happy New Year

2013 has come to a close. We brought in the New Year somewhere in the middle of the Snowy Mountains just outside Jindabyne, NSW. We had no mobile phone reception, no technology to distract us and just good friends and good food by the fire to celebrate one year ending and another beginning. I have to be honest at this point and tell you we were actually in bed my 10:30pm!

I have spent the last two nights since returning catching up on some of my favourite blogs and reading through lots of posts on the New Year and the goals they have for themselves and their families.

Having just arrived home I haven't given too much thought to our own goals and intentions for the year ahead, but I plan to spend the next few days journalling and doing some goal setting of my own. We've already got a few big things on the calendar for 2014 so it's exciting to put some of those on paper and plan for them!

True to form we had a rather large cleanout here on Boxing Day. We are always thankful for the wonderful gifts our girls are blessed with at Christmas and birthdays, however, we find it overwhelming filling our already tight spaces with so much! Boxing Day was spent bagging up clothes, toys and other items for the Salvos and then putting the new things away. The following day the bags left our house and hopefully will go on to be useful to another child/family.

I'm looking forward to more time with books on my bedside table - that actually get read.

I can't wait to plant my heirloom seeds and watch them grow to a beautiful bounty for our table.

I'm anticipating my girls growing and changing even more right before my eyes. I want to have them wide open and focussed on those precious girls.

And now at 10:14pm I also wish to inform you that I plan to get to bed a little earlier this year!

So with that I will wish you a Happy New Year and all the best for the year ahead. I look forward to connecting with you on various social media and following along with your 2014 goals and intentions too.

My 'word' for 2014 is CHANGE... I'm expecting a few changes this year and I'm surely going to instigate a few of my own too!

Do you have a word for 2014? What is it?
